About the COTUME Conference The International Tunisian Congress on Mechanics (COTUME) is a prominent biennial scientific event that fosters collaboration, knowledge sharing, and skill development in the field of mechanical engineering. Since its inception, COTUME has become a key platform for professionals and researchers to exchange insights and innovations across diverse mechanical engineering disciplines. The inaugural conference took place in Hammamet, Tunisia, from March 17–19, 2008. Subsequent editions were held in Sousse from March 19–21, 2012, and March 24–26, 2014. Since then, COTUME has evolved into a well-established series of international conferences. The fourth edition was hosted again in Hammamet from October 13–15, 2018. The fifth edition, CoTuMe 2020, initially scheduled for March 2020, was rescheduled to March 21–24, 2021, due to global circumstances, and successfully took place in Hammamet. The most recent CoTuMe 2023 edition saw around 170 oral presentations and 36 poster contributions, with over 20% of the participants hailing from international countries such as France, Italy, Greece, Portugal, Canada, South Africa, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey. With more than 250 participants, the conference facilitated discussions on the latest advances in mechanics, advanced materials, manufacturing processes, and research opportunities for Tunisian laboratories within the framework of European research programs. The topics at CoTuMe 2023 covered a wide range of mechanical engineering fields, including biomechanics, mechanical behavior of materials, contact mechanics, advanced manufacturing processes, and design methodologies. Additional topics included modeling and computational mechanics, reliability, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and robotics. Looking ahead, the Tunisian Congress on Mechanics (CoTuMe 2025) will be organized by the Tunisian Association of Mechanics (ATM) and is scheduled to take place from May 1 to 3, 2025, in Mahdia, Tunisia. This edition will be supported by all Tunisian research institutions in mechanical engineering, alongside international partners such as the French Mechanical Engineering Association (AFM), the Algerian Technology Transfer Association (A2T2), the Moroccan Society of Mechanical Sciences (SMSM), and various industrial sponsors. CoTuMe 2025 will feature plenary lectures delivered by renowned experts on cutting-edge scientific topics. Additionally, two competitions will be held: one for the best oral presentation and another for the best poster.
